The Hoya PROND EX 8 has a 3-stop light reduction equal to a ND optical density of 0.9.

The ACCU-ND technology in the Hoya PROND EX filters yields a truly neutral color balance that will not add any noticeable color-cast to your images.

Hoya's exclusive ACCU-ND technology achieves equal reduction of the light in visible and IR spectrums. As a result the photographer may not fear any issue with color shift when using Hoya PROND EX filters in different shooting conditions.

Neutral density filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering your camera lens and should not have any other effect on the image. Reducing the amount of light allows for the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effect in bright lighting conditions.

ND filters in video shooting is also an irreplaceable tool to achieve cinematic quality. To obtain natural motion shutter speed is recommended to be adjusted to frame/rate setting.

The Hoya PROND EX 8 is a light neutral density filter with a filter factor 8. This filter factor converts to a 3 stops reduction on the amount of light entering the lens. Among other things, light density filters will lower the shutter speed in the bright sunny day to allow you to reduce depth of field in very bright light or to use a wider aperture to stay below the diffraction limit.
